Tooling Engineering for Sheet Metal Stamping

Die Cad is a global tooling service supplier, specializing in sheet metal stamping engineering. We help our customers with product and process simulation, tool and die design, special purpose machine design, die details sourcing and other related services. For three decades, we’ve built our reputation by helping our customers solve the industry’s most complex problems.

North American-based Design Team

With our team of simulation and design engineers located in Grand Rapids, MI, USA, you can count on Die Cad to provide accurate engineering solutions and uphold the highest quality standards. Our seasoned team employs a variety of CAD software platforms to seamlessly move jobs from part concept through simulation to die design for manufacturing.

Strategic Sourcing of Die Details

We have a strategically located office in China staffed with in-country project managers. This allows us to oversee the quality and timing of offshore best-cost suppliers that manufacture and deliver fully machined, ready-to-assemble details for your tooling.

Before arrival on your shop floor, Die Cad unpacks the die components to clean and inspect each detail. We then repackage them individually sorted for shipping to your facility, reducing your internal preparation time.  We ensure all details meet customer requirements and are ready to be assembled.

Our Capabilities

Capability that Delivers Quality and Cost Control

For nearly three decades, Die Cad has built a reputation for delivering reliable simulations, designs, and machined components to OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and tool shops. Our mission is to support our customers’ success by providing dependable engineering services and components that promptly meet their needs.

Stamping Dies, Gauge & Special Machine Design

We have a full team of seasoned designers with tool shop and build experience utilizing CATIA® and NX CAD (Unigraphics) software to produce fully color-coded 3D solid models.

Simulation

Simulation is key to the success of Die Cad tool designs. Our specialists use Auto Form software to determine feasibility, material usage, required concessions, spring back compensation and tool processing requirements.

Die Details & Full Die Builds

We manage offshore suppliers to manufacture and deliver fully machined, ready-to-assemble details for your tooling needs. Our team of three in-country employees oversees project management, ensuring timely and high-quality completion. We apply the same model when partnering with domestic suppliers, offering various quoting and supply options for your full build and kit die tooling. This includes full LCC, full domestic, or a combination of both in a hybrid build.

AutoForm

AutoForm is the leading global provider of software solutions for reducing development time and costs in the die-making and sheet metal forming industries. This software allows us to analyze, review and optimize functionality for forming processes up-front.
Developing and proving out the formability of sheet metal parts during the design phase results in a final design which is ready to be machined with compensation. This results in reduced press try-out time, saving time and money. We have developed a reputation for being able to produce accurate results for complex and advanced parts. Our experienced AutoForm simulation engineers continue to make sure that this remains true.

CATIA V5 & Unigraphics (UG) NX

We utilize both of these industry leading powerful software platforms to design complex tooling. They provide the tools needed for our designers to produce fully color-coded 3D solid modeled designs and 2D detailed prints based off your and your customer’s build standards. Our designers work directly with our simulation department to be sure all final form & blank development results are incorporated into your final designs.  We typically conduct a minimum of three reviews with your team to perfect your end product.
